An Automatic Inflator is a component commonly used in life jackets and personal flotation devices (PFDs) to automatically operate when it comes into contact with water. This technology is designed to inflate the chambers of lifejacket, ensuring that the device inflates for personal flotation device quickly in emergency situations, even if the wearer is incapacitated or unconscious.
Water-Sensitive Mechanism: The automatic inflator contains a mechanism that is sensitive to water. This mechanism can be triggered by immersion or contact with water.
Activation Method: Once the water-sensitive mechanism is activated, it triggers the release of a CO2 (carbon dioxide) cartridge or another gas-producing mechanism. This releases gas into the inflatable chambers of the life jacket, rapidly inflating it.
